Enjoy the ride
How do you define work-life balance?
I hate that word since many identify it as being perfectly able to distinguish your work and your private life. That’s a lie – A big one. Your life is your work, and your work is your life. It’s permanently interconnected, blurred.
The show called “Severance” painted the perfect picture, a Black Mirror-like, of what trying too hard to achieve an ideal work-life balance leads to.
So, before thinking you can achieve something inherently impossible, work on what you love and where you enjoy time with your colleagues, as they are all a crucial part of your life. At least most of us on in this industry have that choice to start with.
I’ve recently read that we all have, on average, only 4.000 weeks before we die. Do you want to spend them on achieving what no one ever did or instead enjoy the ride?
